VISION OF THE FUTURE

The Free Belarusian University works towards a future in which:

• WBU graduates participate in the reform process of Belarusian society based on European values;

• The experience of WBU contributes to transforming Belarus into a leader in the field of education;

• The Belarusian model of transformation becomes a benchmark for the region and the world and is applied in different countries;

• A national revival takes place, and Belarusians are able to engage with the civilized world on equal terms.

In this future, the Free Belarusian University is a sustainable and dynamic educational platform integrated into the global academic space. WBU offers synchronous and asynchronous courses on various topics, including MBA and MPA programs. WBU graduates not only receive diplomas but also gain opportunities for further development through internships, scientific research, and academic programs at international partner institutions.

The university’s development is based on a network of partnerships with leading educational and research centers. Financial stability is a key element of WBU’s sustainable growth, enabling the expansion of educational initiatives and the maintenance of a professional team of staff and lecturers.

VALUES

WBU creates a space based on the following values:

• Human dignity and human rights – every person deserves respect, equality, and freedom, and education should contribute to their protection and development. WBU adheres to non-discrimination principles, ensures equal conditions for all, and supports openness and diversity in the educational and academic environment.

• Freedom – the ability to think, learn, and act without oppression. WBU fosters an open and pluralistic educational space where everyone can be sincere in their beliefs, and mistakes are seen as part of learning and experience that help move forward.

• Democracy – decision-making through dialogue, transparency, and accountability. At WBU, a system of collective decision-making is in place, where the leader is regarded as “first among equals.” The principles of good democratic governance are implemented, with respect, support, and equal procedures and rules for all, creating a fair and transparent system of cooperation.

• National revival of Belarus – restoring the Belarusian language, culture, history, and identity as the foundation of an independent and modern state. WBU promotes the idea of national identity through course topics and prioritizes inviting Belarusian lecturers. Belarusian is the main language of instruction and communication at WBU.
