About Us
The Free Belarus University (Belarus Free University, ВБЎ/VBŬ) is an independent educational space that enables Belarusians around the world to acquire modern knowledge and develop professional competences based on European experience and digital educational technologies.
The University offers online courses in various fields: economics, sociology, public policy, history and culture of Belarus, modern technologies and leadership. In order to fulfill its mission and achieve its goals, it cooperates with Polish and international partners interested in the development of free Belarusian education and the integration of Belarusians into the global democratic community.
The Free Belarus University was founded on the initiative of 59 famous Belarusian scientists, people of culture and art, journalists, politicians and social activists. Among them:
- Nobel Prize winner, writer Sviatlana Alexievich
- First leader of independent Belarus, Prof. Stanislav Shushkevich
- Nobel Prize winner, human rights activist Ales Bialiatski
- Chairwoman of the Union of Poles in Belarus Andżelika Borys
- Laureate of the Sakharov Prize awarded by the European Parliament – Alaksandr Milinkevich
History and development
2017
A Foundation was registered in Warsaw, which became the legal basis of the Belarusian Free University. The first educational programs have started.
2021
With the support of the "Polish Aid" program and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Poland, the first online course was held - Global Mini MBA "Small Business Management", in cooperation with universities from the USA and Poland.
2025
The University brings together over 70 lecturers from 7 countries and has over 900 graduates from 30 countries, who have completed a total of 51 educational courses.
Today, the Free Belarus University is an independent educational platform for Belarusians around the world. It offers online courses in economics, politics, history, technology and leadership, and develops international cooperation for free Belarusian education.
